Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

This is the matchup we’ve all been waiting for, when the team at the bottom of the NBA power rankings faces the second worst. This is your typical matchup of terrible teams, because both teams have a lot of talent and should be much better soon. The Pistons will be without Cade Cunningham tonight, while the Spurs will feature Victor Wembanyama tonight, who has been taking the league by storm, even though that hasn’t translated into wins for the Silver and Black.

Both teams are on five game losing streaks, while San Antonio has shown signs of life lately, losing close ones to the Bucks and Cavaliers at the buzzer in their last two games. On paper, this looks like a likely win for the good guys, but games are played on the court, and the Spurs will have to continue their solid play to work their way to a win tonight in Detroit.

Let’s watch the Spurs and see if they can handle a team that they should beat tonight. As always, watching the Spurs can be a joyful or frustrating experience, tune in tonight and find out which one we’ll see tonight.

Game Prediction:

Both teams will gain and blow large leads, and the team that blows a bigger lead will lose.

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
