Prediction

With some good young talent who have a good mindset already on the roster, and a (potentially) generational talent on the way in, I think Pop retires.

He's had his success, then stuck around after TD retired because he promised to LA, then he stuck around because he didn't want to jump ship when the team was going to a rebuild and leave a mess for his successor (especially if that successor was going to be a first time NBA coach, such as were his assistants at the time - Messina, Udoka, Hardy, Hammon).

Now that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and some established coaches whom PATFO believe would fit the Spurs system/way are available (Monty Williams, Brett Brown, Mike Budenholzer, Nick Nurse,... no, I'm not putting Doc here), I think Pop leaves the HC job and lets someone else take this team into the future, allowing that new face to put their own mark on the young team and the incoming future superstar.

What do you think?
