It’s time for Basketball: Spurs vs Bulls

The Bulls look to extend their winning streak to 4 and the Spurs losing streak to 16

NBA: San Antonio Spurs at Chicago Bulls Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

During the current 15 game losing streak, the Spurs have faced a couple of bad teams, but in every case, the bottom dwellers used their matchup with the Silver and Black to get their mojo back and take out their frustration on a team that was even worse than them for a 48 minute game. Tonight, they face the Chicago Bulls, who are 8-14, but on a three game winning streak, with victories over the Pelicans, Bucks, and Hornets.

This is only the second game in a week for San Antonio, and they played well against the Timberwolves on the road a few days ago until their characteristic late-game collapse, which led to a 94-102 loss in Minnesota. Tonight, they’re at home, well-rested, playing a beatable team, and dammit, it’s my birthday. I’m counting on a win tonight, and that’s all. Victor Wembanyama had his worst game of the season on Wednesday night, and tonight would be a great night to bounce back.

Game Prediction:

Zach Collins will keep taking open shots, and will shoot his way out of his slump tonight.

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
