It seems like a long time ago, but it was only Saturday night when a ballboy accidentally caused an injury during warmups to the Spurs best hope for the future, and we’re all hoping that Victor will make a return to the lineup tonight. The game is in the Frost Center, where the team staff knows where to stand during shootaround, so I expect that Wembanyama to be in the game if he’s cleared for action before the game starts.
The Dallas Mavericks ran all over the Spurs in Dallas, with Luka Doncic doing most of the damage. The Jazz lack a singular superstar of Luka’s caliber, but they have plenty of good players and could end up in the play-in at the end of the season despite a .400 record currently. Lauri Markkanen is a talented scorer and Jordan Clarkson has always torched the Spurs whenever he returns to his home town.
It’s still a winnable game, and the well-rested Spurs need to feed off the home crowd, which should be ecstatic to see Victor if he can return to action tonight. If now, it’s all on Jeremy Sochan, who has been playing really well lately. Let’s see if the good guys can get another win in 2023, they will have three more chances after tonight.
The ballboys will be kept 20 feet from the court during warmups, which will make them very sad.
One final word:
Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
