It’s the second night of a back-to-back, so speculation is that Victor Wembanyama might sit out tonight, which would rob fans of one of the craziest mismatches possible in today’s NBA, Zion Williamson’s tank-like physique matched against the willowy Frenchman. Both players use their physical attributes to great advantage, but it would be great to see how that plays out with them matched out against each other.
Zion Williamson has been available for every game this year, and he’s the engine that propels the New Orleans offense, averaging 24 points with 4.9 assists per game. After last night’s heartbreaking loss to the Hawks, I don’t really hold out a lot of hope that the Spurs will be able to break their 13 game losing streak tonight, but stranger things have happened. The Pelicans won their group in the In Season Tournament, and they might be looking forward to their first round game against Sacramento on Monday night. The Spurs will be off after this game until next Wednesday, when they face the Timberwolves in Minnesota. There’s no excuse for holding anything back with four days between games, so the Silver and Black should play all out tonight, and send the Pelicans to Las Vegas with a loss.
Victor will try to speak French with a Cajun fan on the sidelines and realize that there’s no way that he can grasp that particular dialect.
One final word:
Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
