It’s time for Summer League: Spurs vs. Timberwolves

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The Spurs Summer League squad takes on the Minnesota Timberwolves in their first game of their Las Vegas schedule tonight in Sin City. Although the Spurs were 0-3 in Salt Lake, they improved their play, and had some encouraging individual performances from the new players, including first round pick Josh Primo and last year’s first rounder Devin Vassell looks to be rounding into shape. Joe Weiskamp is still finding his way after being drafted just a few weeks ago, and Tre Jones could play tonight. The rest of the guys are just looking to find a spot somewhere to play. This is going to be fun to watch, but it’s Summer League, so don’t expect polished play from everyone. These games are for developing the players and coaches, and the score doesn’t matter that much. Still, let’s hope for a win tonight for the Summer Spurs.
