It’s time for Summer League: Spurs vs. Bulls

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

In Vegas, they say that the house always wins, but sometimes, you can pick up a pot or two and break even. That’s what the Spurs are trying to do tonight, after they had a shot to tie the game with time running out last night, but the Timberwolves’ defense kept them from running their offense, and they had to rely on a Tre Jones prayer at the buzzer that wasn’t answered. Like everything else in Summer League, that was a learning experience.

Tonight, they take on the Chicago Bulls, who were blown out by the Pelicans yesterday 94-77. Despite that score, Summer Bulls have a lot of talent, so this will be another difficult test for the young Summer Spurs. It will be interesting to see if Primo can settle down and just make plays as he gains more experience leading the offense. Tre Jones looked solid last night on his first game back after leaving concussion protocol, and look for him to have a dominant game tonight.
