Sideline reporter Monica McNutt made the most of the KJ spotting by interviewing him during the halftime break. She asked him about the Tokyo experience. She asked him about getting the word he was being added to the team and the Tokyo experience.
“The day they made the announcement I came down for breakfast, they told me they wanted me to go to Tokyo with them . . . it was definitely a memorable experience . . . we came out with the gold, we didn’t give it what everyone was saying, we knew what we were capable of . . . still just living in the moment, but I think it’s definitely crazy, 21 with a gold medal. Definitely blessed”

While he was interviewing, Dejounte snuck in behind him. Almost unnoticeable were it not for the neon green hoodie.
