The San Antonio Spurs have conducted a pre-draft workout with South Carolina shooting guard AJ Lawson.

Lawson has also worked out for the Celtics, Pacers, Hornets, Kings, Nets, Hawks, Jazz, Magic, Cavaliers, and Raptors.

The six-six swingman was one of 353 early entry candidates for the 2021 NBA Draft. And he will probably hear his name called in the second round after staying in the talent pool past the final July 19 withdrawal deadline.

The 21-year-old junior was one of 40 prospects invited to the 2021 NBA G League Elite Camp in Chicago, and he performed well enough for the league to extend him an invite to the 2021 NBA Draft Combine.

Lawson averaged 16.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game in his last season playing for head coach Frank Martin and the Gamecocks and earned All-SEC Second-Team honors in 2021.

The sharpshooting two-guard is one of five draft-eligible Canadians who hope to come off the board next week, including Joshua Primo, Eugene Omoruyi, Dalano Banton, and Jahvon Blair.

The 2021 NBA Draft will take place on July 29 at 7 PM CST at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. ESPN and ABC will televise the first round, and the second round will air exclusively on ESPN.
