The San Antonio Spurs have announced plans to honor Tim Duncan on Saturday as he is inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Duncan will not be present as he is in Uncasville, Connecticut.
All fans in attendance for the 1:00 p.m. game against the Phoenix Suns will see Tim Duncan highlights all throughout the day. Additionally, each fan in attendance will receive a Tim Duncan Hall of Fame mini-basketball and poster. Artist David Garibaldi will speed-paint a special Duncan portrait to be auctioned off next week with proceeds benefiting the San Antonio Food Bank.
After the game, Sean Elliott will host a ceremony honoring Duncan that will end with the unveiling Duncan’s jersey banner in the rafters now featuring of the words “Hall of Fame.”
Can’t be there? No worries. Bally Sports will televise the game as well as the post game festivities.
