Tim Duncan will officially become a Hall-of-Famer on Satuday. The Big Fundamental is part of a stacked class that includes Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett and Tamika Catchings. It’s perfect company for the best power forward of all time and one of the most successful players in NBA history.
Duncan is not known for embracing the pageantry of ceremonies designed to honor him, but surely he’s happy to be enshrined among the best basketball has had to offer. He’ll have Hall of Fame member and fellow Spurs’ legend David Robinson presenting him, so even if Big Fun opts for brevity in his speech, there will be someone there to exult in his greatness.
There was never a doubt that Duncan would become a first ballot Hall-of-Famer, but it’s still an honor that he will, and fans are surely waiting eagerly to see Timmy receive this well-deserved show of appreciation.
