It’s time for San Antonio Spurs vs Milwaukee Bucks

Despite losing six of their last seven, the Spurs still have a solid lead on the Pelicans

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much. Remember, it’s only a game, and unless you made a very unwise bet, the outcome shouldn’t affect your life either way. It’s OK to get mad, but don’t take it out on your fellow Spurs fans.

The Brutal stretch of games to end the season is finally wrapping up, with one week and five games left. Tonight, the Spurs face Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, who have improved their roster this year by adding more shooting, including players like former Spurs sharpshooter Bryn Forbes. Shooting, in particular the lack of it, has been the Spurs weakness this year, with only Lonnie Walker and Rudy Gay having much luck from 3 points lately, and with struggling to contain the opponents shooting on the defensive end.

Despite that, the Spurs are in strong position to secure at least the 10th place spot in the Western Conference, possibly earning the final play-in spot despite losing 6 of their last 7 games. The Spurs still need another victory or two in their final games to secure their position, and tonight would be as good as any, since the remaining games (against Brooklyn, the New York Knicks, and Phoenix twice) will be just as challenging, if not even more difficult. The Bucks should have a lot of confidence tonight, as the Spurs have been awful at home, and if the Silver and Black can put together a solid game tonight, they have a chance at catching them napping.

Beware crafty Antetokounmpo, keeping the defense in limbo. When his steps are Euro, the Spurs defense must be puro.

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
