Dejounte Murray racks up another triple-double as Spurs fall short of the Heat

The curse of the four-game winning streak lives on.

NBA: San Antonio Spurs at Miami Heat Rhona Wise-USA TODAY Sports

The San Antonio Spurs went cold late against the Miami Heat despite strong games from Dejounte Murray and DeMar DeRozan, and the quest for the elusive four-game winning streak (which the Spurs have not accomplished since the 2018-19 season) continues. The good guys had to adjust without Derrick White’s services for the foreseeable future and kept it respectable till the end. Murray notched his 4th triple-double of the season with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. DeRozan poured in 20 points and handed out 8 assists of his own.

Recently, Dejounte Murray has been stuffing the box score with rebounds and assists to go with his scoring. Tonight was no different as the 5th-year guard led the Spurs throughout the game.

Here, DeMar DeRozan picks a pocket and takes the steal to the other end for a pocket pass to Drew Eubanks:

Murray’s recipe for an and-1 requires a little hesi, a splash of burst, and then top it off with a strong finish to the basket:

Keldon Johnson went bowling down the lane with no regard for any Miami Vices in his way:

Lonnie Walker IV manages to make a coast-to-coast venture look slow initially and then he casually puts on the burners to cruise past the defense for a bucket:

Murray had his mitts all over this play starting with a steal and quickly ending with a touch bounce pass to a flying Devin Vassell down the other end for a slam:

And last but never least, the full-game highlights:

Next up, the Spurs head out to Beantown to take on the Celtics on Friday, April 30, 2021.
