The Spurs put away their main competition for the final play-in spot on Saturday night, defeating the Pelicans 110-108 for a 4.5 game lead with 12 games to play. The Spurs magic number over New Orleans is now 8 which means any combination of wins by the Spurs or losses by the Pelicans that adds up to 8 or more puts the Spurs ahead of the Pelicans and almost certainly in the play-in tournament. Tonight they face the Wizards, who have been streaking lately with 8 wins in a row and 10 of the last 11. But tonight, they are on a SEGABABA, and with a possible injury for Beal and possible rest for Westbrook, it could be a good opportunity for the Spurs to reduce that magic number by hexing the Wizards tonight.
Rudy Gay is still out tonight, so hopefully, this will be a good night for Devin Vassell to show his stuff in the nation’s capitol. Derrick White has been breaking out recently, and he’s likely to make a big difference on both ends of the court tonight.
The Spurs have bested the Pelicans, but now they face Davis Bertans. The defense, he overburdens, if he gets free, it’s curtains!
One final word:
Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
