Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

It’s hard to be a Spurs fan these days, and last night was a tough one to stomach. Yeah, there were some bad calls, but the turnovers and defensive mistakes gave the Trail Blazers the opening they needed to win by a single point as the Spurs got three shots to save the game at the buzzer and couldn’t make it happen. Tonight, they’re on the road again, against the red-hot Suns, who aren’t going to give the struggling Silver and Black a break tonight.

The Spurs secret weapon is that they’ve played well on the road. Well, not always well, but better than they have at home. Tonight they’ll need that, and possibly a sub-par game from Devin Booker and the Suns. It seems unlikely to happen, but let’s watch and find out.

When every game ends with futility, the players have to learn humility. To get a win would be a shock, but you’ve just got to keep pounding the rock. Eventually, the rock will break, and the earth will quake, because once you find the beautiful game, nothing is ever the same.

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
