Baylor remains 1 of 4 players in NBA history to average 25 PPG and 10 RPG in his career.
Only 2 players in NBA history averaged more PPG than Baylor, Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain. pic.twitter.com/ARCpr9KEHA
Only Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan averaged more points per game in their careers than Baylor.
Beloved by all who knew him, appreciation among players and fans alike immediately hit social media. Naturally, the NBA is mourning the loss.
Our game lost a pillar today. Rest in Power to the great Elgin Baylor

RIP to the NBA’s first high flyer, Lakers Legend, & Hall of Famer Elgin Baylor. Before there was Michael Jordan doing amazing things in the air, there was Elgin Baylor! A true class act and great man, I’ll always appreciate the advice he shared with me when I first came into the pic.twitter.com/khPRc73gqW

Baylor played his entire career with the Lakers, his first two season in Minnesota.
Baylor was also an NBA executive serving as the Los Angeles Clippers VP of basketball operations. He was the league’s 2006 executive of the year.
Elgin’s No. 22 jersey was retired by the Lakers in 1983.
Rest in peace, Mr. Baylor.
