(Per Spurs PR)
The four-time All-Star missed the last four outings attending his father’s funeral service in Los Angeles but has rejoined the ball-club and received clearance from the NBA to play in Cleveland.
While the Silver and Black went 3-1 in DeMar’s absence, the offense sorely missed his scoring and playmaking abilities, seeing a decrease in points per game and an increase in turnovers per game.
And with DeRozan presumably resuming his position in the starting lineup, head coach Gregg Popovich and company should better their chances at retaining if not improving upon their play-in status as the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
San Antonio must face two-time reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the third-place Milwaukee Bucks in a grueling SEGABABA a little more than 24 hours after this contest tips off, so don’t be surprised if DeRozan sees limited minutes in his return.
