Rudy Gay cracks the Top 100 in all-time steals

Every cloud has a silver lining.

It takes some pretty powerful Spurs-colored glasses to find a moment in what otherwise can be best described as a dumpster fire, but here it goes: While scoring absolutely zero points last night in Philadelphia, Rudy Gay had one lone steal. And while that may not seem enough to write home about, it was his 1,165th all-time steal which ties him with Calvin Murphy as the 100th most in NBA history.

Currently there are thirteen active players ahead of him, so there is plenty of room for him to move up the ladder. Next up on the list, Sacramento Kings guard Mike Bibby with 1172. With Carmelo Anthony only two steal behind him, Rudy better keep active hands lest he gets booted back out of the top hundred for a spell.

Remember that happened to DeMar DeRozan last December when he hit the Top 100 in all-time scoring only to be knocked out a day later by Steph Curry. Currently, DeRozan is 97th and Curry is 86th, 432 points ahead of DeMar.

Ironically, Rudy Gay is 102nd in all-time scoring and most assured to make his way into the top 100 before this season comes to a close.
