The Compton native was quarantined to a Charlotte hotel room when his father passed in mid-February, and he has shown the utmost commitment to this organization through thick and thin.
DeRozan has missed just ten games since joining the Spurs via trade during the 2018 offseason, and the Silver and Black are 6-5 all-time when the four-time All-Star doesn’t suit up.
DeMar leads San Antonio in both points (20.3 PPG) and assists per game (7.3) this season and has found a near-perfect balance to his new role as the lead scorer and facilitator of the offense.
San Antonio will also be without LaMarcus Aldridge as PATFO continue to search for a suitable trade partner after the two parties mutually agreed to part ways on Wednesday night.
