The San Antonio Spurs have announced Rudy Gay is no longer available for tonight’s home matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to left hip flexor tightness.
Rudy Gay has been added to the injury report for tonight vs Minnesota with tightness in his hip
— Bruno Passos (@bouncepassos) February 3, 2021
The 34-year-old combo forward has appeared in every game for the Silver and Black this season, and this is the first time he has been on the injury report since January 2020.
Gay joins fellow 15-year veteran LaMarcus Aldridge on the sidelines, leaving head coach Gregg Popovich without a significant cog in his second and starting unit.
Rudy has posted a team-best 112 plus-minus, a league-leading 95.9 Defensive Rating, and has been instrumental for a bench that owns the fourth-highest per-game point differential (+5.6) in the NBA.
