It’s time for San Antonio Spurs vs Minnesota Timberwolves

After the mini-sweep from the Grizzlies, the Spurs try to get back on the winning track in the final game of a 7 game home stand

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

Last Friday, the Spurs were feeling pretty good about themselves, having just pulled off impressive wins against the Celtics and the Nuggets with impressive fourth quarter surges. But against the Grizzlies, there were no surges in any quarters, and the Silver and Black found their egos smarting from two consecutive routs where Ja Morant and everyone else on the Grizzlies outplayed the home team. Tonight, they face the 5-15 Timberwolves, the team with the worst record in the Western Conference. But as everyone on the San Antonio Spurs knows, one of those wins was against the Silver and Black, when an injury decimated Wolves squad held the Spurs to 88 points on January 10, for their lowest point total of the year (so far). The 11-10 Spurs need a win to stay above .500, and if they avoid the lackluster play of the last two games, they should do it tonight.

The Grizzlies took care of business, and was something to witness: It was a show most offensive, and it made Spurs fans feel pensive. It might even get worse, after being mauled by Grizzlies, they’re being thrown to the (Timber)wolves.

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
