Dejounte Murray and Derrick White belong together in win over the Hornets and in our hearts

Can’t help falling in love with two wins in a row.

NBA: San Antonio Spurs at Charlotte Hornets Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

The good guys kept love alive on Valentine’s Day with a win over the Charlotte Hornets for their second in a row (and on the road!). Like any lasting love, times were tough early on, but the Spurs managed the ups and down and in the end professed their victory. Dejounte Murray led the team with 26 points, and Derrick White chipped in 25 of his own. Murray and Jakob Poeltl both grabbed 12 rebounds each, and Poeltl continued his strong defensive run with 4 blocks.

Spurs fans have been clamoring for the dynamic duo of Murray and White to start together or play more minutes together for a while now, and it’s good to see the two make sweet, sweet magic together:

The Dynamic Duo are also stepping it up on defense as evidenced by their steal tallies this season. Appropriately, this pick six was brought to you by Dejounte Murray’s ball-hawking skills:

I practiced this shot at Chuck E. Cheese every date night there because nothing says romance like a night out on the town at a rat-themed children’s casino. That being said, Derrick White does the ball flip off the glass much better:

Here, Keldon Johnson pirouetted until he found a cutting Lonnie Walker IV for a thunderous throw down:

Lonnie No-Look Walker dumped off this delightful pass to Jakob Poeltl for the lay-in:

The Spurs started with a game of hot potato with the basketball around the horn and ended this beautiful sequence with a pretty finger roll by Rudy Gay:

And last but never least, the full-game highlights:

Next stop on the RRT, the Spurs motor on to Detroit to take on the Pistons on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
