It’s time for San Antonio Spurs at Charlotte Hornets

The Spurs face the rejuvenated Hornets and try to stay undefeated on the Rodeo Road Trip

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The Spurs ran the Atlanta Hawks out of the gym on Friday night for 3 quarters, and while the end of the bench gang didn’t play well in the fourth, it was one of the best games of the year for the Silver and Black as the outcome was never in doubt. Tonight they face the Hornets in an early Eastern Conference tip-off, and this won’t be a win that the Spur can take for granted. The Hornets backcourt of LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier is talented enough to to give the Spurs’ suspect transition defense a hard time, although they’ve been much improved in the last couple of games. Gordon Hayward has been inconsistent, but he’s been showing signs of being fully recovered from his catastrophic ankle injury of a few years ago, an can be very dangerous, especially if Jakob Poeltl gets into foul trouble. If Dejounte Murray and Derrick White can keep pace with the dynamic Hornets guards, then this has a great chance of being another Silver and Black win.

Roses are red, Violets are blue, If you wander off the trail, you’ll be eaten by a grue. [Happy Valentine’s Day!]
