Anyone who watches Fox Sports Southwest broadcasts is familiar with Dan Weiss’ “Dan-alytics” portions of the pregame show. His extensive dives into the statistics of basketball is also sprinkled throughout the telecast.
A couple of nights ago, Weiss shared this impressive tidbit:
Comparing individual defensive FG% to team defensive FG% Jakob Poeltl is the #1 defender in the @NBA when he's on the floor. Jakob limits opponets to 38.2% shooting vs. the Spurs overall 47.4%:

2. Durant -8.7%
3. M. Turner -8.3%
4. Butler -7.5%
5. Fox -6.4%
That’s a pretty imposing stat from an imposing player. The feat is more magnificent in the wake of the recent LaMarcus Aldridge injury which has pushed Poeltl to the starting line-up and given the Austrian big man a more prominent role.
