After a disappointing loss on Saturday, the Spurs try to split their two game series against the Grizzlies

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

Saturday night, the irrational exuberance caused by a 3 game win streak against some pretty good teams came crashing to Earth, as the red-hot Grizzlies used Ja Morant’s point guard wizardry to score at will against the slow-footed home team. Tonight, they’re running it back, and with a day off, the Spurs hope to turn in a better effort tonight. An off night from DeMar DeRozan didn’t help, as Memphis got incredible performances from their entire roster. Derrick White looked fine in his return, but the Spurs need a more organized defensive effort tonight to avoid the mini-sweep before they leave to play the Rockets on Wednesday in Houston.

When the Hulk tosses the Bear, it can seem almost unfair. But if the beast faces Bruce Banner, he will crush him in a splendiferous manner. To avoid a suffering a loss most ghastly, the good guys must forcefully bring the NASTY!

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
