Josh Primo's Austin Spurs Debut.

I got to see the Austin Spurs against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers last night and for Josh Primo it was kind of a mixed bag. First couple of minutes he seemed to be feeling himself out. Then a drive down the lane and a viscious slam seemed to wake him up. He threw in a three pointer on the next trip down and a little while later scored on one of his funky floaters. He had another three in the first period but then it was kind of grim after that. Stats show him with three turnovers as he often ran the offence but it seemed like more than that. He was shooting without a consience till he threw up a number of bricks and air balls.

Overall he played like a gifted kid that has a lot to learn. He finished with 14 points on 5 of 12 shooting and 2 for 6 from three, 2 rebounds and 6 assists (including a couple of pretty slick ones), 1 block and 3 turnovers.

Joe Wieskamp played with a little more polish as you would expect from the older rookie. He scored 15 points on 4 of 11 attempts including a sharp 3 for 5 from three and 3 for 3 from the line.

Those G-League three point and two point free throws are a bit difficult to get used to. Spurs are back down here on the 24th so I will try to make the game. Looks like we have a couple of promising rookies.
