The San Antonio Spurs officially unveiled their new “City Edition” jerseys for the upcoming season. And while some fans were concerned about the team scrapping their outrageously successful Fiesta threads from a year ago, they’ve outdone themselves, combining the lively color scheme with uniforms that pay homage to the George “The Iceman” Gervin era.

The NBA is celebrating its 75th anniversary season by honoring all-time great teams, players, and coaches. But it also appears they wish to pay tribute to defunct franchises that built the league into a professional sports powerhouse. And the Dallas Chaparrals logo on the shorts from San Antonio's humble ABA beginnings is one detail die-hards might appreciate.

The Spurs will debut the latest rendition of their “City Edition” jersey on November 12 as they meet the Dallas Mavericks in a divisional showdown at the AT&T Center. The fresh uniforms also come with an accompanying court design, which takes inspiration from the radiant culture of the local community and commemorates the storied history of this proud organization.

According to LockerVision, the NBA’s official nightly jersey tracking website, the San Antonio Spurs will swap their traditional Silver and Black for their fiesta fit a total of 19 times this season. So if you want to catch a game and match Dejounte Murray, Keldon Johnson, and the rest of the crew, make sure to check out their calendar before you head out to the arena.

And the Spurs faithful won’t have to wait much longer to get their hands on some lovely fiesta merchandise. The team also announced their 2021-2022 city edition jerseys will be available for purchase in person at Spurs Fan Shops and online at spursfanshop.com starting November 15 at 9 AM CST.
