Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.
The good news tonight is that a Spurs player gets a championship ring tonight, as Bryn Forbes will collect his 2021 championship ring from being on the Bucks as they beat the Suns in six games earlier this year. This is probably the toughest game of the year so far, as they face Giannis Antetokounmpo and the champs in their arena this time after playing they pretty close on October 23, losing 121-111. Tonight, the Silver and Black will be without Doug McDermott. Lonnie Walker on the first means that there’s not a huge drop-off for the starting lineup, but his absence from the bench unit really hurts the offense when the starters have to rest.
This isn’t a game the Spurs look to have much of a shot of winning on paper, but maybe that’s just what Bryn Forbes need to pull off a huge upset. If they manage to, the Silver and Black will have to do it in front of a hostile crowd, a task they failed to pull off in the game against the Lakers. As they say, it’s always darkest in the middle of the night.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
has an unrhymable name
But defenders are doomed, Oh!
Whenever he enters the game
One final word:
Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
