It’s time for San Antonio Spurs at Los Angeles Lakers

The Spurs play their second game in a row in the Staples Center, but this time it’s against LeBron James and the Lakers

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

After holding on for a close win against Clippers on Tuesday, the Spurs return to Staples Center tonight to face the Lakers for the final time this season. That’s right, after tonight, the Spurs will have played 3 of their 8 games against the reigning champs, led byLeBron James and Anthony Davis. Fun fact: half of the Spurs’ losses so far this year have been to the Lakers. The good guys need a win tonight to even the season record at 4-4 and avoid the season sweep from the team in purple and gold. The Spurs showed plenty of spirit on Tuesday against a masked Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers, but let them back into the game in the last minutes and barely escaped with a win. I have a feeling that tonight’s game won’t be quite so close. Keldon Johnson is tearing up the league, and I expect that he’s going to have another great night in Los Angeles.

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
