The Spurs have assigned Tre Jones to the Austin Spurs as their G-League affiliate prepares to travel to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando for the tip-off of their regular season.

San Antonio selected the 21-year-old point guard in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft with the 41st overall pick and has appeared in just nine contests through the team’s first 20 games.

The rookie hasn’t received many minutes in a crowded Silver and Black backcourt, though he shared a special moment with his brother and fellow Duke University alumnus Tyus Jones in a recent loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Jones now joins second-year forward Luka Samanic, two-way contract signees Quinndary Weatherspoon and Keita Bates-Diop, and a handful of former NBA players and college hoops standouts on a talented G-League roster.

The Austin Spurs arrived in Orlando for the beginning of training camp earlier today, and they will kick off their twelve-game schedule against the Memphis Hustle on February 10 at 10:30 AM CST.
