The Spurs played their 3rd game in 4 nights and kept the contest close until the end, but the well-rested Grizzlies pulled way and snapped the Spurs’ three-game winning streak.
Derrick White led the Spurs with 18 points going 3 for 6 from deep while Dejounte Murray had 15 points and 7 assists. Between White and the Grizzlies, the secret sauce might have just been time off. Seven different Spurs scored in double digits, but fatigue was a factor even as Coach Popovich insisted that the good guys cannot lean on that excuse. Nevertheless, the Spurs will have a chance for redemption against the Grizzlies soon enough.
Welcome back Derrick White! White made a splash three in his first action since January 1st by bailing out LaMarcus Aldridge, who looked like he was swatting away angry Ewoks (defensively aggressive Ewoks):

Tap out, jam on. Jakob Poeltl spiked a nice offensive board to Derrick White only for White to immediately reward the big man for an easy dunk underneath:

Lonnie Walker IV found and promptly fed Poeltl with this sweet end-around pass for a bucket down low:
