It’s time for San Antonio Spurs vs Memphis Grizzlies

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The Spurs are on a tear lately, beating the Celtics and the Nuggets with clutch fourth quarter play, and tonight they face the Memphis Grizzlies, who haven’t played since January 18, when they beat the Suns to cap off a 5 game winning streak. This will be an interesting contest between a team with 12 days rest vs a team with no days rest. The Grizzlies are also missing several key players, but Ja Morant is available, and that’s all they need to be dangerous. He carved up the Spurs in the first meeting between the teams, scoring 44 points in a Grizzlies loss. The Spurs are counting on the return of Derrick White tonight, and hopefully he will help in containing the ebullient Morant, as the Spurs try to win their fourth in a row.

Tonight is going to be the night! All hail the return of Derrick White. Like in the scene where the Hulk throws the bear, some matchups are just destined to be unfair. The Spurs future will be bright, but tonight they need to keep their focus on the fight. If they want to keep the winning streak unbroken, the Keldon must be awoken.
