The Spurs hope to turn their trend of improving play into a win against the Jazz tonight

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The Spurs are on a 3-game losing streak, but they’re leading the league in moral victories this year, playing well enough against the Los Angeles Lakers on New Year’s day to put the outcome in doubt until the last minute. Unfortunately, once again the game was decided by poor execution when it mattered and missed shots under duress, where the more talented and experience champs had the edge. But every day is a winding road, and this is a team that’s learning and improving, and they’ll only get better as the season goes on. Tonight, they face another Western Conference playoff team, and although Donovan Mitchell hasn’t started out the season playing his best, there’s no doubt that he’ll break out a monster game sometime soon. Hopefully it won’t be tonight. Let’s do it, Spurs, and Dejounte must dominate Schroeder.

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
