What a roller coaster this week has been! We’ve gone from the San Antonio Spurs’ Monday game against the New Orleans Pelicans being abruptly postponed to them back to playing tonight like nothing ever happened, and now the best news of all. In his pregame chat with the media ahead of their tilt with the Boston Celtics, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich announced that Derrick White is expected to return from a broken toe this weekend:
Pop says Derrick White wants to play tonight and probably could. Team is going to wait until one of the games this weekend (Sat vs Denver, Sunday vs. Memphis) for White to make his return.

(Note that the Spurs’ upcoming games are Friday and Saturday, not Saturday and Sunday.)
This is excellent news for Spurs fans and should present the first opportunity to see the team at full strength. The Spurs have done surprisingly well without him, posting a 9-7 record (his only appearance before his toe injury was at home in their first matchup against the Lakers), so it will be exciting to see what they can finally do with White back in the fold.
