After the shellacking in San Francisco, the Spurs are back home to face Luka Doncic and the Mavericks

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

Wednesday night, the Warriors romped to an easy win over the lifeless Spurs, who started poorly and finished worse in a game they were never in. This year, the Spurs, led by a young core of Dejounte Murray, Lonnie Walker IV, and Keldon Johnson, have been very resilient after losses, following up down games with strong efforts. After their worst effort of the season, tonight will be a challenge, facing Luka Doncic and the exciting Mavericks. The Mavs are missing quite a few players tonight due to COVID protocol, but as we learned with Houston, just because a team is shorthanded doesn’t mean that the game can be counted in the win column. And with Luka Doncic, the Mavericks are always a dangerous opponent. Hopefully, the Spurs will find some of that Fiesta Court magic tonight and pull out a win against the Ponies.

Will tonight be a replay of the Shellacking in San Fran? The Beatdown by the Bay? The Rout with no Doubt? Tune in and find out. Let’s scream and shout, and raise a drink, as we cheer for the Teal, Orange and Pink.

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
