It’s time for San Antonio Spurs at Oklahoma City Thunder

The Spurs try to get back on the winning track on the last game of a five game road trip

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The Spurs road trip ran into an obstacle on Sunday night as DeMar DeRozan was out for personal reasons, and the team really looked aimless without its best scorer and on the court leader. It was a learning experience as the young guys played well, but weren’t able to mount a coherent offensive strategy and lost to D’Angelo Russell and the Timberwolves 96-88. Tonight, they face the Thunder, who have gone on the path of a complete rebuild this year, and have traded most of their stars for a passel of first-round draft picks. Despite that, they should be a threat to the young and short-handed Spurs. The Silver and Black need Lonnie Walker IV and Dejounte Murray to step up tonight and provide consistency on both end of the floor. Devin Vassell may be a little banged up, but if he’s available, he will be very important if the Spurs want to win 4 out of five on their Western Conference road trip. Trey Lyles will have a much bigger role tonight with DeMar out, and Rudy Gay and LaMarcus Aldridge will have to have to provide a stabilizing influence on their young teammates.

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
