Spurs star swingman DeMar DeRozan will miss the second leg of a two-game mini-series versus the Minnesota Timberwolves to tend to his ill father, according to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.

DeRozan has been a picture of health since joining the Silver and Black two years ago, missing just eight of a possible 162 games, and this will be his first absence of the 2020-2021 season.
The four-time All-Star leads the Spurs in both points (21.2 PPG) and assists per game (7.0) through nine contests, and San Antonio is 5-3 all-time when DeMar doesn’t suit up.
Minnesota will also be similarly shorthanded as the Timberwolves have announced All-NBA center Karl-Anthony Towns will sit this one out, citing a previous wrist dislocation on the injury report.

QUESTIONABLE
Josh Okogie – Left Hamstring Strain
OUT
Karl-Anthony Towns – Left Perilunate Subluxation
Towns returned to the court in an overtime loss to the Spurs, though he was visibly wincing throughout the matchup. The T-Wolves are 0-6 and have lost by an average margin of 20 points per game without KAT.
