In a remarkable second half comeback, heroic play by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the Boston Celtics into victory over the Miami Heat and extended their season through Sunday at the minimum. Tatum and Brown combined for 59 of the Celtics 121 points. Daniel Theis was impressive with his double-double pulling 13 boards and kicking in 15 points.
But Celtic fans shouldn’t exhale too quickly as the Miami Heat look to bounce back with a vengeance in Game 6. The Celtics have yet to come up with a way to stop Goran Dragic, who fouled out in the fourth quarter.
Miami also has sharpshooters in Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson. Robinson shined with 20 points. Herro’s 14 made a dent but was not enough to push Boston back down.
Andre Iguodala scored only two points and picked up a technical foul on a flagrant for unnecessary contact to Daniel Theis’ head.
Boston had all the makings of comeback kids, but can they sustain it long enough to push Miami to a Game 7?
Fans will find out Sunday night.
