Rudy Gay sets Spurs franchise record with 13 straight double-digit games coming off the bench

Oh, and happy belated birthday as well.

Rudy Gay is not to be denied. The Spurs veteran racked up a franchise-setting thirteen straight games scoring double-digits while coming off the bench. Think for a minute about some of the guys who have come off the bench for the Spurs over the years.

On a different note . . .

Rudy, this is a message to you . . .

A couple of weeks ago I front-loaded multiple articles into the Pounding the Rock editing site. With David Robinson, DeMar DeRozan, Patty Mills, and Rudy Gay having August birthdays, I had prepared articles. I also had been chronicling the “Spurs Voices” interviews to post every three to four days.

Apparently I was a little “over-prepared.” I started so many articles, other writers and editors had to scroll way down to find their pieces.

Yesterday I fell victim to the repercussions of my own circumstances. In the criss-cross, the prepared birthday piece for Rudy Gay was not correctly dated . . . and I missed it.

Rudy, my heart-felt apologies. As we were reminded in Orlando, Rudy can’t fail and sir, you deserve full respect and recognition on your special day.

Happy belated birthday, Rudy. Stick around in San Antonio for another season, I’m sure we’ll get it right next year.
