In this edition of Between 2 Spurs, Matt Bonner visits with Brian Scalabrine.
While technically never a member of the San Antonio Spurs, Brian Scalabrine spent eleven seasons in the NBA, three of those alongside Kevin Garnett as part of the 2008 NBA Championship Boston Celtics.
The two ginger snaps talk the “good old days,” living with sunscreen, and the comparisons between working with their respective 2020 Hall of Fame inductees, and spaghetti sauce.
[On a personal note, my beautiful daughter is seven-years-old today. She is my Spurs sidekick. We wear our jerseys every time we watch a game (she wears Bryn Forbes, and I Derrick White). We have gone on a Mural Tour. And as I have mentioned repeatedly, the Spurs won their fifth NBA Championship on father’s Day, which, for me, is a sign that the Spurs Culture was hers to learn. These are a couple of my favorite Spurs Daddy/Daughter stories. The first is on my return to San Antonio and taking my daughter to her first Spurs games and the second is when we went to Dirk Nowitski’s final NBA game.]
