It’s time for San Antonio Spurs vs Charlotte Hornets

After last night’s disappointing loss, the shorthanded Spurs try to pick up a win on a short turnaround in Charlotte.

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The Spurs have had stretches of inspiring play at times this year, but they have real problems closing the deal and winning games in the clutch. Last night, Domantas Sabonis almost single handedly held off the Spurs comeback, until the final moment, when the Silver and Black self-immolated with some awful offensive execution with the game on the line. Tonight, they face the Charlotte Hornets on a short turnaround, and need some poise to remain in the hunt for that final spot in the Western Conference playoffs. Trey Lyles has had an impressive run the last few games, and hopefully he can keep it going tonight on the road. DeMar DeRozan will need to break out of his mini-slump tonight, and Rudy Gay will need to have another solid game with Jakob Poeltl and LaMarcus Aldridge still out with injuries. Go SPURS GooOOOoo!!
