It’s time for San Antonio Spurs vs Dallas Mavericks

The Spurs return home tonight to face the Mavericks

NBA: San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

Home again, home again, jiggety jig. The Spurs are back from their long road trip tonight, and face Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. Luka Samanic is with the big team tonight, so is it too much to ask to see some Luka on Luka action tonight?

To market, to market, to buy a fat hog. LaMarcus Aldridge will be out tonight with a sore shoulder, so the Spur will need to play Jakob Poeltl a lot tonight, and will need solid games from Dejounte Murray and DeMar DeRozan to compete tonight. The Spurs need to rebound from the disappointing Rodeo Road Trip, and tonight will be a good time to start. From this point on, it’s not really about securing a playoff spot for the Silver and Black, but for the team to find its identity and develop leadership. A win tonight would be a good step along that journey.

Home again, home again, jiggety-jog. To market, to market, to buy a plum cake. Let’s all gather around our TV screens or mobile devices and watch this together! Go SPURS GooOOOoo!!
