It’s time for San Antonio Spurs vs Toronto Raptors

The Spurs return to San Antonio to play the an Eastern Conference contender

NBA: Toronto Raptors at San Antonio Spurs Daniel Dunn-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The undefeated Spurs return home tonight to the AT&T Center, but there won’t be any fans in the stands as they face the Toronto Raptors, who are currently based in Tampa, due to Covid-based travel restrictions between Canada and the US. Despite not being able to play in their home city, the Raptors have plenty of talent, and an improved Pascal Siakam could have them being a contender in the Eastern Conference this year.

The Spurs won’t be playing in their Fiesta jerseys tonight, but the colorful play of Dejounte Murray, Lonnie Walker IV, and Keldon Johnson should provide plenty of excitement, along with solid contributions from veterans LaMarcus Aldridge, Rudy Gay, and DeMar DeRozan.

Rookie Devin Vassell had a relatively quiet game in his debut on Wednesday, so tonight on Boxing Day, he might have a coming out party.

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
