Report: Danny Ferry is returning to the Spurs’ front office

Sampson Kayode is also joining from Team USA.

No matter where his journeys take him, former Spur Danny Ferry keeps finding his way back to San Antonio. This time, he is returning to the Spurs in a front office capacity, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Ferry also worked for the Spurs front office from 2003 to 2005 immediately after his retirement and winning a championship. In 2010 he returned as Vice President of Basketball Operations for a couple of years following a successful stint as the Cleveland Cavaliers’ general manager during the first LeBron James era. He most recently served as a special advisor and later interim general manager for the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Spurs are also reportedly bringing in USA Basketball’s Samson Kayode in a player personnel role. He has been serving as assistant director of the men’s national team since 2016, and prior NBA experience includes as a video intern with the Golden State Warriors and video coordinator and scout for the Detroit Pistons.
