Ferry also worked for the Spurs front office from 2003 to 2005 immediately after his retirement and winning a championship. In 2010 he returned as Vice President of Basketball Operations for a couple of years following a successful stint as the Cleveland Cavaliers’ general manager during the first LeBron James era. He most recently served as a special advisor and later interim general manager for the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Spurs are also reportedly bringing in USA Basketball’s Samson Kayode in a player personnel role. He has been serving as assistant director of the men’s national team since 2016, and prior NBA experience includes as a video intern with the Golden State Warriors and video coordinator and scout for the Detroit Pistons.
