It’s time for San Antonio Spurs at Houston Rockets

NBA: Houston Rockets at San Antonio Spurs Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

James Harden is playing tonight in a meaningless preseason game. It might be his last game in a Rockets jersey, or he might be in Houston all season. Who knows, it’s hard to trade a disgruntled superstar and get good value in return, or so I’ve heard. But this will be a good chance to see if Devin Vassell can build on his impressive debut on Sunday, and also find out if the Spurs can get their first win of the season, although since it’s a preseason game, it won’t count either way. I’m interested in seeing John Wall, who might finally get the recognition he deserves playing in he Western Conference.

My prediction for this game is that Pop will infuriate the fans with his weird rotations, LaMarcus Aldridge will frustrate the people watching on TV by chucking up a lot of three point shots, and DeMar DeRozan will take plays off on defense, and none of it will matter because it’s preseason.

One final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
