Over the past couple of years, my daughter and I have made excursionS out of visiting the various Spurs murals around town. Recently, we visited the newest addition to the Mural Tour, Becky Hammon’s two-story tribute. At the same time, it was discovered that two murals we have previously visited have been given a fresh coat of pain.
Better late than never
Tim Duncan may have spent last season dressed up on the sideline beside Gregg Popovich, but #21 has already declared he is stepping down. One can expect he will still facilitate in the gym, but this mural at Frankie Diablo’s on the south side may have come just a little too late.
Spurs fans have you seen this new mural of Tim Duncan in his new role with coach Pop? #TimDuncan #CoachPop #Spurs #Legends pic.twitter.com/VmJ7FvG81G

The hero in the skyline
Over at Countdown City Cuts, not too far from Diablo’s, another Tim Duncan mural has gone up. The San Antonio skyline with a jerseyed Duncan facing away brings back the era of the GOAT winning his various championships.

The two Tim Duncan updates were replacements. I’ll give you two guesses on who he replaced.
