Spurs swingman Lonnie Walker IV is entering his third NBA season and his first potential contract year. After spending most of his rookie season developing in Austin, Walker eventually found a permanent spot in the rotation last season, jumping from 6 minutes per game to 16 mpg in the process. However, he and fans want more, and he’s putting in the workout this offseason to make it happen.
The sessions have been with New Orleans Pelicans’ Jrue Holiday and his fulltime performance coach, Mike Guevara.
I was given the opportunity to work out with @jrue_holiday11 and @mrdoitmoving to improve myself mentally, and physically. Boy was these past 2 weeks great! Learned a lot. Seen so much I can improve on and truly blessed to learn under a great player but even a greater person BEAT ALL ODDS
He’s also been putting the work in on the court (including hitting half court threes like it’s nothing).

The 2020 NBA Draft and free agency have yet to happen, so we don’t entirely know what the team will look like when the new season begins (potentially around December 21), but even if some seasoned veterans remain, the Spurs appear ready to start seriously featuring their young players.
