Roster moves 2020

Dear fans, I am posting this article just because I've spent so many time lately thinking about our beloved Spurs team. We are used to be successful last 20 years or so. And suddenly we are marginally team and tear apart between tanking or fighting for playoffs. But it is not so bad situation. Yes currently we are not on top, we do not set standards like we used to, but we have potential in our roster to get back to top 3-4 teams.

I will start with some roster informations listed in table under:

Most our fans, just as myself, are complaining why we don't trade DDR. I believe that PATFO don't want DDR as our player for the future, otherwise he would get extension. This is the key for trade deadline. DDR is in the same position as Kevin Love for example. He is willing to go to team that is contender, and we are willing to listen offers. It is better to wait for someone to approach to him. Then we could get upper hand in that trade, we could set rules. If we don't get any offers at the trade deadline then he could leave us in summer or just opt in for one more year. Those two solutions aren't bad and that is why PATFO doesn't call for trade unless someone especially want him and then try to make best deal for him. If he leaves us in summer then we get some cap space for someone else, but if he opt in then we have player with just one year contract who can be easily traded (easily because if we trade him now the other team is just renting him for 2-3 months). Also there are two more players that are in trade talks on forums. Belli and Forbes are worst our defenders but both are getting significant minutes and Forbes is even a starter. We all know he became starter because injuries last year but he isn't that caliber player. IMO they let those two guys play until trade deadline and then PATFO will trade them for picks for next year or some young undeveloped players. We don't need to rush with trades, just try to lose DDR in summer at least, then we would not have Belli and Forbes and can make roster around LMA, and our young guns. LMA is starting to become great 3pt shooter and he showed many times in Spurs jersey that he is willing to adopt his game to help team. That is something that DDR is not willing to do and that is why he is first to leave this team. If LMA continue to become 3pt threat then our roster is becoming more reasonable and next year will be more time for Murray, White, Walker to shine. This year PATFO decided that it can't be done too much to become contender so they sacrificed this year to make something out of years to come.
