After the emotional loss to the Raptors, the Silver and Black take on the Bulls

NBA: Chicago Bulls at San Antonio Spurs Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

Sunday afternoon’s game was an emotional roller coaster, the Spurs somehow overcame a lackluster start to tie up the game in the fourth quarter, but the Spurs nemesis of poor finishes once again took hold and while the Raptors made clutch shots, the Spurs didn’t, resulting in an all-to-familiar outcome. That’s been pretty much the story of the season so far, but at least the young backcourt of Dejounte Murray and Derrick White got extended minutes yesterday. Tonight, with minimal rest after the emotional gut punch of the Kobe Bryant tragedy, the Spurs face one of the Eastern Conference’s bottom dwelling team. Normally, this should be good news, but the Silver and Black has had a hard time putting away the worst teams in the east, losing to the Atlanta Hawks (twice!) and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Spurs need wins, and they can’t let down tonight if they want to keep in the playoff race. Go SPURS GooOOOoo!!
