It’s time for San Antonio Spurs vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

New decade, same old Spurs

NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder at San Antonio Spurs Scott Wachter-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The end of the year had some hopeful notes for the Spurs performance, with solid performances against the Pistons and Grizzlies, a close loss to the Mavs, and a New Year’s overtime squeaker against the Warriors. Tonight, they face Chris Paul and the OKC Thunder, and will try to start the new decade on a winning note. The development of the Spurs young players has been encouraging, along with efficient performances from DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge. The schedule for January will be tough, so a win tonight is important if the Spurs want to stay in playoff contention. Go SPURS GooOOOoo!!
